The House...

Well as you can see from my last post, we are buying a house and we close on September 23rd. We are also in huge renovation planning mode because we will be putting in all new floors, re-painting the entire interior, changing the landscaping, getting new doors, etc. etc. etc. We plan on having our big move be November 14th in attempts to get settled before Thanksgiving. I will be taking LOTS of before and after photos to post on the blog so you all can see the transformation. We are so excited!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Mr. T's Surgery

Well for those of you keeping up with the blog, Mr. T's surgery on his kidney stones went well and the doctors feel like they got pretty much all of it and he won't have to go back for another surgery. He went into the hospital on Thursday and Bill and I brought him home this afternoon. He is still in a good bit of pain and still has the tube coming out of his back that hopefully he can have the doctors remove this week. He should be on the road to recovery but at the very least, he is glad that he is back home.

Bill is headed to Dallas tonight for safety training tomorrow and we have our first meeting with our new tax accountant on Wednesday. Other than that this week we will just be checking in on Mr. T and getting caught up on laundry and sleep.

Alabama Trip

Last Thursday Bill III, Bill IV and I left on our trip for Alabama. We left around 1pm from Houston and made it to Mobile, AL in about 8 or so hours. The following morning we got up, got on the road and headed for Lake Martin. We met up with all of the family around 3 and started having fun! We played in the lake, played badminton, played cards and generally just had a great time together. I got to meet some of Bill's family that I had heard lots about and I was really excited to do so. It is always nice having a face to put with a name. Anyway, we had a great time and I have to thank all of my hosts and hostesses because they did a fantastic job of cooking for us all weekend.

Looking forward to many more family trips together....

My Birthday!

Bill and I just celebrated my 25th birthday (it was July 24th) and it was wonderful!! My birthday was on a Friday so of course Bill was coming home from Dallas. Before he got home though he stopped and got me flowers, balloons, picked up my cake and then got my presents and cards out from a closet!

We went to Perry's Steakhouse that night for dinner and it was delicious! We went to the Perry's at Memorial City and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a yummy steak!! Then after we came home we drank a bottle of Tattinger (our fav) and dined on birthday cake! I had to beg Bill to let me FINALLY open my presents and they were the best....he bought me a silver jewelry case from Tiffany since it was my "silver" birthday, he got me the LV overnight bag that I wanted, he bought me a cutting board from Williams Sonoma that I wanted and gave me 2 great Peanuts cards. It was a great birthday!!

Here are some pics....

Vacation

Well as most of you know, Bill and I went on a semi-vacation to Costa Mesa, California a couple of weeks ago and we had a blast! Bill was there for some IBM meetings and I was along for the ride! We met a lot of really nice people and I finally got to put some faces with some names I'd been hearing about for a long time. It was my first trip to California and we went to Beverly Hills, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and of course, Costa Mesa. The temperature could have been any better - 78 degrees, breezy and sunny - It REALLY did not make me want to return to the heat of Texas....but we eventually had to come home.

We had a great time and I can certainly see Bill and I going back to California on another trip soon!

Random Update

Bill and I are so pumped about this weekend!! Not only is it Easter but it is also Master's weekend! I am flying to Dallas tomorrow to give a presentation to our Fort Worth office on Friday. Bill is picking me up from the airport on Thursday night and then he and I will drive home from Dallas Friday afternoon. So as soon as we get home on Friday, we are watching Master's highlights and then watching on Saturday and Sunday afternoons! Yea!!!

What else have we been up to??? Well - we went to the Astros game last night with a guy I work with and his wife (super nice) and they won! Other than that, not much else is happening and next week I've got my eye surgery. Pray for me to keep my nerve especially since I am getting more anxious by the day. I know it will be for the best, in the long run, if my eyes can be fixed but I am completely nerve-racked.

Anyway - I hope everyone has a good rest of the week.

1st Place!!!

Well yesterday turned out to be so much fun...because I was on a team that was 1st place in a GOLF TOURNAMENT!!! I went to TDI's golf tourney yesterday and it was a blast! My friend Tara works for TDI and they are also a sub at MCH and it was a ball. We played with two very nice guys, who put up with me and Tara as we swatted our clubs around the course - (thank G for BEST BALL) and we walked away with a handsome trophy! Who would have thought?? Needless to say, Bill could hardly believe it but I have proof....

You'll have to forgive me - I took the picture with my computer so the letters are backwards....Oh well...you still get the point!

We got our TCO!

Good news!! After weeks and weeks and weeks of working nights, weekends and all in between at nearly 70-80 hours a week, we finally got our Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the Medical Clinic of Houston! Today! Whoooohooooo!!!!

This week has been crazy with inspections and Bill has been in New York so things have been even more hectic. I am SO ready for some R & R with my husband. So ready...but it will have to wait until the first of April. We still have to get MCH moved in and operational so there is still a lot to do. Bill has been in NY at an IBM Conference and is coming home tomorrow night. Yea!!! :)

Well that's all I have to report for now....we've been Working, Working and did I mention WORKING??? Wow, I didn't realize how sad our life sounded until I wrote this blog.

We hope all is well with everyone else and I hope that things start settling down so Bill and I can do more together and post some FUN and EXCITING blogs!

Love you all.

Happy Birthday Sally!

One more thing....I have to say Happy Birthday to Sally!!! Today is her 60th birthday and I hope it was a great one!

We love you!

Lately

I know I know...I have been a horrible blogger lately. I haven't updated anyone since Christmas - so here goes...

Bill and I have been doing great, just working tons and trying to spend as much time together as possible. I am wrapping up the Medical Clinic of Houston and have very promising work ahead. I am not at liberty to say yet but just know that I am extremely excited about my next project and I should be there by the end of March. As for Bill's work he is busy working on bids for other projects and still in the middle of his big IBM job right now. He is still traveling to Dallas a few days a week but he is trying to limit the travels to only an overnighter.

As for the apartment, we just renewed our lease in January for 7 more months so we are staying put. We have driven around a few neighborhoods looking but nothing serious so for the time being we will stay on good 'ol W. Alabama.

Other than that not much else has happened, just staying busy with work and relaxing on the weekends. We are both extremely excited that spring is coming and we have vowed to hone in on our golf skills this spring and spend lots of time together practicing.

I hope all has been well with everyone else and I promise to do better about keeping up with the blog!

Love you all-
